Calalonga is a small, rather remote beach that isn't too crowded in the summer and makes a good spot for swimming.
Beach Description
This attractive beach of coarse sand is set in a compact cove with only very limited facilities.
The clear, sparkling sea slopes away from the shoreline fairly steeply, making it ideal for snorkelling (but not so suitable for small children as it deepens quickly). The beach can be quite exposed to the wind.
Calalonga Beach has a very natural, untouched quality, and is a perfect opportunity to escape southern Corsica's summer hordes. Go prepared with adequate provisions and shelter from the sun and wind.

A small reef close to the shore provides interest for snorkellers, who can find themselves completely surrounded by shoals of shimmering fish.

Facilities
Beach bar/restaurant
There are no permanent facilities however a small van provides limited snacks and refreshments in the afternoon (open from 1pm in the summer).
Water Sports
No organized sports. A popular beach for snorkelling due to its exceptionally clear waters, reef and relatively steep slope into the sea.
Parking
The best place to park is on the roadside where the road "ends" before a track (by a green and white sign). Do not take the road turning on the left, which leads to a hotel. Instead, walk 200 m straight ahead down a rutted track to the beach. Driving down this uneven stony/sandy track is not recommended (unless you have a 4X4).
Directions
Take the D58 east out of Bonifacio. After about 3 km take the right hand turning (D258).
Follow this road past some military complexes. Continue until you arrive at the point where the road directly ahead becomes a rough track, next to a turning to the left leading to a hotel (do not take this left turning). Park on the road and walk 200 m ahead along the track to Calalonga beach.
